Live for creating, tracking and linking work orders; no estimates workflow, parts lines, technician time or invoicing yet.
Every job on a boat, linked to the boat.
Boat dealer work order software with the history on the boat. Work orders are numbered automatically and tied to the customer and hull, so service history lives on the same record as the sale. Billing and technician time are outside it today.

What is built, said plainly
As boat dealer work order software, this is a service record first. You can open a work order for a customer and boat, or for a walk-in hull with no owner on file, track it through nine statuses, and see it on the boat and the customer. It is a solid service record. It is not yet a repair-order system: there are no parts lines, no technician assignment or time clock, no estimate sending or approval, and no invoicing.
- Automatic numbers by year, in the form SVC-2026-00001
- 13 service types and five work types: customer pay, warranty, internal, recall, goodwill
- Priority: standard, priority, emergency
- Nine statuses from estimate pending to completed, each change attributed
- Estimate fields for labor hours, labor cost and parts cost, with a total
- Searchable by order number, or by your previous system's RO number
How it works today
- 01
Open the order
Search the customer, pick their boat, or open against a hull alone. Add the complaint, type, priority and location.
- 02
It writes to the boat
Saving adds a service event to the hull's history, attributed to the person who created it.
- 03
Update status
Move the order across statuses inline. Re-point it to another customer or boat if it was linked wrong.
- 04
Find it later
The work orders card on the boat and the customer lists every order, including imported historical ones.
What it doesn't do yet
No invoicing or payments
There is no billing, no payment capture and no printing of work orders.
No parts lines or technician time
Parts cost is a typed number, not a line-item list, and there is no technician assignment or time clock.
No estimate sending or approval
Estimate fields exist for internal tracking. The customer does not receive or approve an estimate from BoaterOS.
Mostly historical data today
Most existing orders are imported history from a previous system. Live order volume has not been proven at scale.
What dealers ask about this
Keep your repair order system for billing. BoaterOS gives you the service record linked to the boat and customer.
Historical orders from a previous system have been imported with the old RO number kept searchable. That was a one-time operator import, not a self-serve tool.
It is a known gap. We do not put dates on it here.
