The desk calculator, on the deal, with the math done right.
F&I for boat dealers starts with a worksheet that adds up. Price, discounts, rigging, trade allowance and payoff, tax and title fees add up in one place, with the totals stored on the deal.

Retail math without the calculator tape
F&I for boat dealers depends on the numbers matching the deal. The worksheet sits on the deal detail. It takes the amount, discounts, customer rigging, additional items, trade allowance and payoff, down payment and surtax, and calculates the subtotal, sales tax, cash price and remaining balance. The financing summary next to it records financing type, lender, APR, term and the protection products sold.
- Integer-cents arithmetic, so totals do not drift by a penny
- Sales tax with the Florida boat-tax cap and surtax built in
- Out-of-state delivery marks the sale tax-exempt and zeroes the tax
- Trade allowance and payoff handled separately
- Financing summary: type, lender, APR, term, warranty, GAP and paint protection, and F&I per-vehicle revenue
- Only admins can change money fields, and edits stay possible on a locked deal for admins
How the worksheet is used
- 01
Open the deal
The breakdown is on the deal's overview tab, next to the money strip.
- 02
An admin enters the numbers
Edit, Save or Cancel. Only whitelisted fields can be changed.
- 03
The totals calculate
Title and admin fee, net sales, tax, cash price, deal total and balance are computed and explained by tooltips.
- 04
The deal picks up the total
The deal's sale price is stored as the deal total, and the amount is recovered exactly when the deal is reopened.
What the F&I worksheet does not do yet
Tax logic is Florida
The sales tax rate, boat-tax cap, surtax and title fee are set in the software today. A dealer in another state needs build work before the worksheet matches their rules.
No lender integration or F&I menu
It records the financing you arrange. It does not send credit applications to lenders, return rate quotes or present a product menu.
Admin-only editing
Reps and managers see the numbers but cannot change money fields unless they are admins.
What dealers ask about this
Only Florida's rules are built in today. Other states would need the tax constants made configurable, which is build work, not a setting.
No. There is a financing pre-approval form on the website, but no lender integration or online credit application in the worksheet.
Price and money edits are the easiest place for unauthorized changes to happen, so the worksheet is locked to admins by design.
