Owners open their own paperwork any time, on your website.

A boat owner portal on your own site. A customer account on your website shows the boats they own, their service history and a vault for registration, insurance and warranty documents.

/ What it does

A self-service account tied to the customer file

The boat owner portal runs on your dealer website, not in a separate app. Customers sign in at /account on your website. What they see comes from the same records your staff work in: the hulls they own, the service records staff have entered, and the documents on each boat. Customers can also upload their own paperwork, and staff see those uploads on the customer file.

  • Owned boats with photos, specs and engines (serials masked to last four)
  • Service history with date, work, status, technician and cost
  • Document vault for invoices, warranty, registration and insurance, uploads up to 10 MB
  • Saved boats from your inventory
  • Profile and communication preferences
  • Imported customers verify their identity before they can get in
/ How it works

How an owner uses it

  1. 01

They sign up or claim an account

New visitors create an account. Customers imported from your old system verify who they are before access.

  2. 02

    Boats appear from the deal

Ownership rows come from deal close-out and admin owner assignment, so purchased boats show up without staff re-entry.

  3. 03

    They upload and download documents

Files go to a private store and come back only through an authenticated link. Only the uploader can delete their own file.

  4. 04

    Staff see it too

Customer uploads and portal-visible documents show on the customer file's Documents tab.

/ Honest limits

What it doesn't do yet

Saved searches are view and delete only

Owners can run and delete saved searches, but the screen to create one is not built, and there are no new-match alerts.

Service history is what staff type in

The portal shows service records entered by staff. It is not fed automatically from work orders or another service system.

Works for owners in the customer role

The My Boats view is limited to customer accounts, and the portal is not indexed by search engines by design.

/ Questions

What dealers ask about this

No. It runs in the browser on your website, on phone or desktop.

No. Every boat is checked against the signed-in owner's ownership record before it opens.

It shows history and documents. Scheduling, invoices, online payments and appointment booking are outside it today.
